At today’s Farmer’s Market the Kinder kids set up a small stall to raise money to help save the sharks from the shark finning industry. Last week the children made the games – typing signs, sticking paper on straws, cutting up straws, decorating maps and today they were able to put all their hard work into action! Great work Kinder kids!
Kindergarten raised an amazing 950 RMB today at the Farmer’s Market!!! Congratulations for TAKING ACTION Kinder students!
To end our Caring For Our Oceans Unit of Inquiry, the children have created two games to raise money at tomorrow’s Farmer’s Market. The money raised will go towards a charity aimed at stopping shark finning. Last week, the children voted on a range of causes including helping turtles, cleaning the beaches, helping the coral reefs and helping sharks. Sharks won!
Please note that tomorrow there will be NO Eurest lunch. Children should bring a packed lunch if they have not already ordered a BBQ lunch.
Kindergarten will visit the Farmer’s Market between 11-12 and will eat lunch outside at 12 should any families care to join us.
Many activities will be free at the Farmer’s Market. However, some items will be for sale and some games will charge a small fee so it is suggested that students bring between 20-50 RMB in SMALL NOTES if they wish to participate in these additional activities.
Wednesday the 5 June is the Farmers Market and International Community Festival! There will be a range of vendors from within our school community and beyond, and the middle/high school students have planned games and activities for the elementary students to enjoy. Our class will be visiting from 11:00-12:00. Please note that Eurest will be providing morning snacks as usual, but there will be no school cafeteria lunches on Wednesday. Food will be available from several different stalls. We hope to see you there!
