I would like everyone to take the time to complete a learning styles survey. It is a simple process and at the end, you will receive a graph that will display your results. I would like you to copy this and either print it out directly or keep it digitally. Once everyone has completed it and if we all agree, I’d like to pin it up on the board in my room so we can compare each other’s main learning styles.
This survey is a simple measure of your main style(s) of learning. This will give you one vision for how best you learn. If you know your strengths, you can use those to help make it easier to learn and study! I did this test when I was in university and it helped me so much! I realized I was studying in all the wrong ways and I adapted my study habits and I actually found studying to be easier!
We can also take this test again at the end of the semester and year and see how each of you have grown!
Please have this survey completed by Monday, August 18.
Welcome to the new school year!
I’d simply like to review the different areas of this blog and what you can expect to see here over this year.
First, on the right, you can notice the different pages devoted to each class or activity that I am involved in. These pages will remain the same over the year and will only highlight the main general information about each class or activity.
Second, I will be posting regularly on the main page in an effort to provide a glimpse into each of my classes and activities for anyone who is interested. I will also be posting resources and materials for some classes. Students will be expected to check these posts to access the various documents and information that will be used in class. I will be doing my best to avoid printing out paper unnecessarily and this is a good step in that direction.
As you may have heard, IST will be moving to another communication platform called ManageBac very soon. As a result, this blog will have less of a role in storing documents and resources as the year progresses. I will continue to post from time to time but the main focus will be on ManageBac.
Please leave comments or email me (firstname.lastname@example.org) whenever you like!
